Taiwan (southern) is an awesome place. People are nice and friendly, things are cheap and affordable, air is nice and clean. One thing I can never understand is the lack of rubbish bins around the area. However so, the area is respectfully clean with nary a litter in some places. I think this could be explained by the way Taiwanese sort their trash. Swill, General Waste, Paper, Aluminium Cans etc. They are also very conscientious about saving water, electricity and the environment.

I really enjoyed what little time of RnR i had over there. Can't wait to go visit again.

Video not taken by me, but I was part of the team. Sweet memories of BMT life.. I didnt get to see our trophy though, unless I can somehow go back to Tekong and to my company line. I finally had done something that made me feel proud and didnt waste my time in NS, seems like I need to find something else to achieve in my current unit.

The Year of the Tiger will be a sickly year for Dragons, as if I've not already been sick for the past week. But I'll do reasonably well in financial and emotional aspects of life, I guess that is an ok trade-off. But just how much of it will stay true, only time will tell, and most of my time is spent in camp.

Thankfully its coming on Steam and I've got a debit! Rocket Knight Adventures has got to be one of the games that eaten away most of the hours when my Megadrive was still plugged in. Countless memories... Amazingly I managed to conquer it when younger, but now I'm finding difficulty with the game again! I blame it on using a keyboard instead of a D-pad.

I'm still looking forward to an Alien Soldier one as well! My own fan progress on it is painfully slow..

Recently a game that has many awaiting and talking about was released, FINAL FANTASY XIII. But it seems that the game has been too overhyped and has felt to me (after reading online articles), that it will be a failure after a very long time in the FF franchise. Just look at the level map, first look reminded me of the map from House of the Dead. But even that had more branches to progress from.

Final Fantasy is and always had been a very open-world RPG, you could decide what to do. Wanna walk around Midgar and just take in the destruction around the place? Feel like taking bounties in Ivalice and then continue with the story? The towns/villages/cities also play a supremely integral part in immersing you to the world and feel the emotions of the place. I could only hope that when I finally get my hands on the game and a PS3, I will be able to find some hope in the game.

I actually attempted a try at creating a wallpaper for some guy's laptop on Mouse Hunt discussion boards, in order to get 20k gold. But I saw him posting on another thread saying that if he finds his topic he would reward the winner of his little contest. I call bull cause you can rather easily find your own topics(with a drop down menu), especially since he's more "lao jiao" he should know better. Probably just saved all the images he wanted and scooted off, I didn't bother with a watermark but did leave some traces of it being done by me. See if you can find it.

Anyways, its good practice since I haven't done any graphical stuff since enlisting.

*Btw anyone have tips on how to make the edges of magic wand items more smooth and less pixely? Make it all blend in and stuff.

Kodomo no Jikan is a great anime. Those who think its only a loli fanservice more than likely made such a decision after the first episode. Try watching the entire series, its actually very deep.

People judge this anime because of its loli fan service, which is ridiculous. It really is a work of art, even if a lot of that is due to its controversial nature. The few scenes where things get a bit rude do not give a reason to bash the entire series, unless YOU YOURSELF decide to look at said character in a sexual way. In which case, would make them a bit creepy.

Its a nice story with great characters and some incredibly funny moments, and the funny moments outweigh the cringworthy moments.

Episode 6 made me feel for Kokonoe Rin, behind all her cheerfulness she's actually going through a very hard time most of us never experienced.

This is one of the touching scenes for episode 6, the song is also very beautiful. I'll just leave it here.

Indie Game Developing

Just decided that more than likely I'll be pursuing this path to take. Sure, I definitely have to find a job to fund my projects but thats how everyone (mostly) start off as.

One of my lecturers during presentation said that, "You might not be able to create a Halo, but at least you can come up with cheap and fun games that you can also profit from". This thought has stirred alot within me and I felt it strongly. Anyone can be an Indie Game Developer, as long as you have the passion to do it, the will to carry on, and a whole lotta spirit.

I've played some pretty awesome games lately, they started off as a project out of passion and eventually get bought up by a big-fat ass companies. That's my long term goal. The first game that gets uploaded should always be the best, filled with the love of all the guys involved.

I'll probably be working alone for now though and finish 1 or 2 games for portfolio, which are 2D in either sprite or flash form. I'll also try to see if there's anyone who shares the same passion and are willing to work with more than likely no monetary rewards early.

Will be having a developer blog up sometime this year.

Personally I find no wrong in women wanting to relive certain moments of their lives, or just to have a baby to cuddle with. But it would be creepy if they won't be able to distinguish between realism and imagination. These dolls are by far one of the most life-like things I have ever seen next to Real Dolls and Candy Dolls (both are brands of sex dolls so google if you're interested).

Probably soon they will be able to move and cry realistically?

Not to mention fur real animals too.

Now I'm just awaiting the era of awesome Persocons.

Portal Prelude

The story takes place some time before GlaDos was activated and went all cuckoo, and real people were actually still working there. Your character is also addressed to as Abby throughout the game.

Basically its a pumped-up harder version of the original Portal. It makes you think that the levels have to be cleared using a very complicated method. But in actual fact, the level could be traversed rather easily. As seen in my videos (i love turning on captions):

This room is just after the starting place, sneaky developers eh?

Graphically not much special cause it's using the stuff from Portal (and a little new textures as above), but it really should be called a full-fledged game than a mod. It also provides a longer game time than the original. I have not completed the game yet, but from what I have seen its really nicely put together. Also, the music is all done from scratch, apart from two tracks if I remember correctly. I'm not sure whether the voices had used some actual recordings or purely using the Windows system voices, but their conversations are still pretty funny.

Bad part is that I ran into some glitches and bugs that prohibited my progress along the way. But thats nothing a level restart wont help with. (image cropped wrongly again)

There are also advanced chambers to unlock but no achievements. But trust me, the default levels are nerve wrecking enough. If you manage to breeze through all with relative ease, I salute you!

Portal Prelude is a great little game for all portal fans out there but will prove to be a challenge to the less hardcore audience.

Moxito is a side-scrolling platform game. You play as a pest exterminator, Hao, to get rid of pests from homes. However his resistance level might not take it, so getting bitten too many times will eventually lead to a visit to the hospital. Hao is armed with the Bug-Eradicating-Gun (or BEGun) and a Bug Swatter, and the knowledge on how to prevent them from breeding. Clear out stagnant water and prevent an epidemic

Decided to give it a go (Portal) after such a long time, started a new game and finally got them all. Especially that idiotic "Camera Shy" achievement, many a camera I have missed but not today!

Play, play, play and didnt even notice I reached the GlaDos battle. Yup It's a short game but very much enjoyable. You just gotta love this scene.

However, I suck at the advanced challenges so I'll probably give it a whirl sometime later.

Wow it's been almost one whole month since my last post! I'm thinking of what game to review next but I'm also very busy with my FYPJ, these few weeks will be pretty intense. Alright then, I finally got my hands on a copy of TP:FoL and here is what I think of it.
The game is very buggy and glitchy, with stupid AI. Animations are jerky mostly and one Nazi actually kicked a grenade I missed into the room full of his friends. Enemies will take cover but be clear to fire at most of the time, and they don't really like to shoot at you. Dialogues are very plain and forgettable, it's also tough to figure out who is actually talking to you sometimes. Story characters die even before you get to know more about them, hell I cant even remember their names other than the main guy.

Weapons sometime cant fire all of a sudden and you will have to restart from one of the lousily assigned checkpoints. Making your way through the entire thing again.

The game is also very short, I completed it in less than 5 hours.

However the music which is played by an orchestra is superb and fitting. The game also looks quite good graphically.

You can only hold 2 weapons and a pistol, along with grenades, and weapons from previous levels do not carry on to the next. The PC version also has no mouse support for the Menus but that is not a big problem. Achievements are available on the Xbox 360 version but not here. Very little to no replayability value.

When you get close enough to an enemy you can do a "execution" move (theres environment and normal) by pressing E, then "up" or "down" to use him as a human shield. Apparently the Nazis don't care much for their soldiers and will continue to shoot at you, killing your shield in the process.

and when you are close to dying, your screen starts to fade and dim. Quickly find cover or get to a safe spot to regenerate.

I would like to show some pretty in-game pictures but theres no single player mode and it lags alot when I set the graphics at Very high. This doesn't happen in Kane's Wrath so I suspect that its the optimisation that's not done.

Anyways, there's only online play available but its cool enough. The Empire of the Rising Sun has really cool units. I love the Striker-VX, it looks like a bird when in biped form but transforms into a missle raining chopper!! The engineer looks like some otaku business man XD The Japs build their buildings by deploying a small vehicle that emerges from the Construction Yard, so you can practically build anywhere you like.

The Soviets have the stingray nassad. A tesla boat that can climb onto land as well. The apocalyspe tank is also as big and mean as it is. There this unit called the Bullfrog that shoots infantry loaded inside it far distances. I had one funny scenario where my opponent launched 10 tesla troopers in front of my war factory and out came my apoc tank. It crushed everyone of them before they even did any serious damage XD. The Kirov is also one mean beast, i almost got my base destroyed when my opponent sneaked in! The Soviets build by having the blueprint laid on the ground first and then wait for it to finish the build progress.

Havent tried Allies yet but their destroyer ships are scary! People like to tech up quickly to build them and launch a major offensive.

The sea has really opened up to be a very vast battlefield. Most units are amphibious (engineers and bears too) and a terror drone swimming into your base thru an unguarded sea is devastating. You can also build buildings on the sea, but remember to have naval units to defend them, or the various base defense mechanisms available. The music also changes when you attack or get attacked, that's something new in the C&C series.

Just really hate the fact that you cant make a solo sandbox game to tech up to maximum tier and try out all the cool stuff. The only way now is to hope that the people who agreed on a sandbox map wont suddenly come attacking you. There's alot of things to find out, each unit has a specific alternate skill and the power upgrades.

So alrighty then, this post might get updated with more details so do watch out if you're interested. Anyways here's my feedback thread on the C&C RA3 beta test forums.

It really sucks balls. When you see a girl. You look at that pretty face, and then marvel at her beautiful hair. Just when you feel like you're gonna try to ask her name, you take a glance at her fingers, and see a ring sitting there..

Its like all the girls in Singapore are already attached (or at least those that I am interested in). Most of the girls I know in secondary school who didnt want a relationship are now with someone, guys as well.

I'm one of those kind that would love to have a female companion by my side. Not just for physical needs, but also emotional.

Guess I'll keep a female cat as a pet then. I think cats are easier to take care of compared to dogs.

Using the Wiibow

The first game the company I'm interned at, Envisage Reality, shipped. I did the arranging of the User Interface (UI) layout, with some help from my colleague teaching me how to use the program. I also did some 2D graphics for the game, but they aren't shown there. Anyway I'm pretty honored to have been part of this project.

Ok I've been wanting to talk about this for a long time now.

I am absolutely fed up with all those people who blasts their music from their handphones on the MRT. If the music was of a better quality i wouldn't mind but it sounds like its breaking the speakers. I do love me some gangsta rap but It's horrid to listen to rap that sounds that bad. Even the guys who have headphones/ear pieces on that are at full blast are better than them. At least they are TRYING to contain the sound to themselves. Some people might not like what you are playing. I know i know, "I dont care what other people think." Jebus! We need some communism in the trains to let people know what they should think.

Traveling on the trains for long periods ain't exactly fun and this added on bad-quality music makes it worst. Also I'm not pointing to just teens, even some aunties/uncles do that. The train is already a place filled with shitloads of ambient noise, please don't make it worst with your latest in audio technology handphones. Besides playing your music at that volume will degrade your speakers anyway.

Heck I've had an Indian guy belting out Indian tunes on the train back home but he sounds so much better.

The bad thing is that all Singaporean's (like me) tend to bear it until at least they or you get off the cabin. We all hum-hum don't dare to tell them to stop, or we are too accommodating.

SMRT says that their staff have the power to fine those people, but isn't it ironic the only person you can talk to is the train operator? Can we make the train stop at a station, go down to the control room and ask for help? I guess not.

I think that Vending Machines are the greatest invention ever created. They provide drinks and food to any weary traveler. Near my workplace there is the Police Cantonment and just as you get out of the MRT station exit you are greeted by the nicest looking machines ever. Just makes you want to bring a vending machine plushie home.

The above phrase really relates well to me, I'm almost always super tired for most of the day. Maybe its the working bug getting to me, I don't even get much social time. Events are always on weekdays and not weekends.

Highly recommend Maroon 5 It wont be soon before long, very nice tracks on it.

Oh yeah there's this neat Ramen shop at Tiong Bahru and the noodles have varying levels of spiciness ranging from 1/2/4/6/8. My colleague told me the place translated meant Hell's Kitchen. I had the lvl 2 one and much to my shame i had stomach upsets the next day, while the rest of them had 4's and 8's and no problems. Well they obviously must have trained for it!!!

-You can look up on people's reactions to the video but personally, i think its rather mild. I wasn't put off by it in the slightest way, instead i asked questions like, how do they make all that poop come out at their command?

I actually dreamt about this word. I have never seen it nor heard of it before. Super freaky. But then again, it actually happened in a wonderful dream. Its so so so so romantic if you hear it from my mouth you'll be encapsulated into my little world.

Well anyways this sucks cause I don't have that blinking little line when I type. Kinda hard to figure out where I am.

Oh yeah I'm currently having my 12 week Industrial Attachment Project and only 1 week has passed. Its not bad actually Envisage Reality, I kinda like the place. The only thing I hate is the distance and scores of uncourteous people on the trains.
